Vito Sansevero a20e59f674 feat(tagging): skipped tags hide matching suggestions (#431)
A Skipped tags list in System > Auto-tagging (D202) hides every suggested
tag whose words contain an entry's words, on every suggestion path
(Tag image, Auto-tag selected, the System batch, the legacy single and
batch routes), before the limit. Jobs snapshot the list at their start.
A read-only preview route counts what a list hides among the library's
tags and the downloaded WD14 label lists. The draft store compares list
and object drafts by value (sameDraft).

Vito 8870496ea3 feat(monitor): store certain prompts from workflows without a PromptManager node, with a System switch (#247, PR 2) (#467)
* feat(inspector): use recorded run history when the graph alone can't name the prompt (#386)

When a file's own graph leaves the prompt open, both inspect routes ask
recorded run history about the file (one run reported it and it was written
during that run). The save node that run reported it from anchors the walk
like a file-name match, so dataset branches that share one saver prefix
show their own prompt, labelled "Recorded run". Still open at one sampler
whose PromptManager text was recorded at execution (a language model's
output), the recorded text shows as "Execution recorded". Results the file
resolves alone never change; a failed lookup judges the file alone.

* fix(inspector): recorded texts follow history's saver; conflicts anchor nothing (#386)

Review follow-ups: the texts PromptManager recorded are looked up at the
sampler history's saver leads to, never at a sampler the unanchored walk
named; a file name naming a different saver than history anchors nothing;
outputs and texts are read in one transaction; "Recorded run" ranks below
every workflow-inferred source; unexpected lookup errors log at error level.

* fix(history): look up recorded runs by history's own spelling of the file (#386)

The history route inspects a case-normalized target on Windows, while
history matches file names exactly, so the occurrence's reference names
the file.

* refactor(inspector): share the inspector's resolve as inspection_resolution

inspect_prompt_evidence now calls inspection_resolution, which returns the
resolution to use, the anchored result and whether the recorded saver chose
it. Ingestion can call the same helper for files the default profile cannot
decide (#247).

* feat(ingestion): one per-file prompt decision for the scan and the monitor

utils/file_prompt.py holds decide_file_prompt, the ladder the output scan
runs today plus the inspector's rule (inspection profile, then the recorded
saver) before the legacy parser, with a SCAN and a MONITOR policy. Junk
text (blank, numbers, LoRA tags only, model file names) is never stored.
graph_prompt_text and parse_comfyui_prompt move here; the parser accepts
parsed metadata (#247).

* feat(ingestion): store a file's prompt in one transaction, one prompt per file

database/scanned_prompts.py links a file to the prompt of one text, creating
it when new, inside one BEGIN IMMEDIATE transaction: a file linked to
another prompt is a conflict, a failed link leaves no prompt behind and two
writers store one prompt. pair_ingestion gains file_link_rows,
link_conflict and Marks/mark_created; ingest_resolved_pair takes optional
marks for the components it creates. recorded_runs and named_prompt in
run_attribution become public (#247).

* feat(scan): decide each scanned file with the shared ladder (#247)

_ingest_scanned_file calls decide_file_prompt (scan policy) and stores the
result: pairs through ingest_resolved_pair and positives through
store_scanned_prompt, both with the scan marks. Files the default profile
leaves undecided now get the inspector's resolve, with the saver recorded
history names, before the legacy parser, so each branch of a shared-prefix
dataset run links its own prompt. Junk text is never stored, a file linked
to another prompt is a conflict instead of a second link, and a failed link
leaves no prompt behind. _BatchHistory reads the stored prompt and the
recorded saver from one recorded_runs pass. _parse_comfyui_prompt calls the
moved parse_comfyui_prompt. TESTING.md documents the decision.

* fix(ingestion): keep the file-name saver anchor out of the ladder (#390)

The #390 ruling queues a file that only its saver's file name resolves for
Needs review, never linking it. inspection_resolution gains name_anchor;
the ladder passes False, so such a file falls to the legacy floor in the
scan (and to Needs review) and is never stored by the monitor, while the
recorded saver still decides. The inspector keeps the name anchor.

* feat(config): gallery.monitoring.save_foreign_runs, default on (#247)

* fix(ingestion): no joined PromptManager text from the legacy floor; junk keeps its step's status

The legacy parser returns prepend + text + append, so its answer is refused
when a PromptManager-family node has a prepend or append part (#343). Junk
found at the undecided-graph step keeps that step's unlinked status and
review, so an ambiguous file is still queued for Needs review. The monitor
policy's ambiguous file no longer asks for the recorded run, and the file
size may be read lazily.

* fix(ingestion): keep the legacy answer that is a PromptManager node's own text

The joined-text refusal also refused the #170 parity files whose
PromptManager prepend is a link the browser parser does not follow: its
answer is then the node's literal text, which is what the node stores.
Refuse only an answer that is not such a node's own text.

* feat(monitor): store the certain prompt of a foreign workflow's output (#247)

A foreign output (no positive PromptManager node) is decided by the shared
ladder with the MONITOR policy. Certain files are stored at settle with
RUN_MARKS through survive_switch; files only recorded history can decide
wait in their own bounded set and are re-checked once after the run's
outputs are sealed, with the sealed reference. The setting
GalleryConfig.SAVE_FOREIGN_RUNS is read for every file.

* fix(scan): one prompt per file for recorded-run links; writes survive a library move

The recorded run's stored prompt now links in one transaction with the file's
link rows, so a file linked to another prompt is a conflict instead of a
second link. The scan's stores run through survive_library_switch. A single
file asks history once (a one-file _BatchHistory), the scan passes
in_output=False and reads the file size only for files with prompt
metadata. A conflict row reads "Kept: already linked to a different
prompt". TESTING.md records the rules.

* feat(settings): save_foreign_runs through POST /settings, applied live (#247)

GET /settings reports settings.save_foreign_runs; a save takes a strict
bool, writes gallery.monitoring.save_foreign_runs and publishes it to
GalleryConfig in the commit, with no restart field. The diagnostics
report lists it. The legacy contract snapshot gains the added key (an
addition, no legacy key moves).

* feat(system): Save prompts from other workflows in Sources & scans (#247, D147)

A host setting row below Watch for new outputs drafts save_foreign_runs
and saves with the one Save row; the server applies it at once, so no
restart is named. While monitoring is drafted off the row is disabled and
says it applies while Watch for new outputs is on. The concept comparison
maps the inserted row and its mutation check covers it.

* test(comfyui): a workflow of ComfyUI's own nodes creates and links its prompt (#247)

The real-host attribution spec gains the foreign case (CLIPTextEncode,
KSampler, SaveImage): its prompt is created and linked at settle and a
second run links to the same prompt. The fixture route lists the waiting
foreign files. TESTING.md records the monitor's foreign path and D147.

* test(vendor): the execution matrix counts the #247 real-host case

* fix(monitor): read a foreign file's size only when the ladder needs it (#247)

Uses PR 1's lazy file size and pins that a foreign file linked to another
prompt keeps its one link on the pair and the positive store paths.

* fix(ingestion): match a file's link rows under its resolved spelling too

The scan stores realpath spellings and the monitor the watcher's raw path,
so a file reached through a symlinked or junction output folder could get a
second generated_images row. file_link_rows now queries the path and its
realpath (each normalized and raw) and dedupes by row id. TESTING.md notes
the reverse order is matched only when the raw spelling is the realpath.

* fix(monitor): wait for the run unless history answered; monitoring off stops foreign writes (#247)

Review fixes: at settle a certain answer ends the wait only when the
lookup found a record or the answer is the inspector's or the recorded
saver's; the legacy floor waits for the re-check. A record without a
certain prompt ends the wait at once. Foreign writes need both
save_foreign_runs and monitoring_enabled, read again just before the
store. Dropped foreign files are logged outside the lock (evictions as
evictions, due ones too), and a drained re-check never drops a newer
reference.

* fix(system): the foreign row can be set while the monitor still watches; its note describes it (#247, D147)

Review fixes: while monitoring is saved off but a source still reads
watching until restart (D128), the row stays enabled with its note; the
note is the switch's aria-describedby. The browser spec restores
save_foreign_runs on the shared server. TESTING.md moves D147 into order
and records the monitor's review rules.

* test(comfyui): each branch of a shared-prefix foreign run links to its own prompt (#247 CUJ 1)

* fix(ingestion): a switched-off PromptManager node behind a pass-through stores nothing (#90)

The #90 graph walk follows only prompt-like inputs, so a PromptManagerText
with Save to library off reaching the encoder through another input name
(easy showAnything.anything, a custom node's value) was invisible to it,
and the inspector's resolve stored its text. The ladder now checks the
positive every step names: a resolved or inspected positive whose path
passes a node that is off, or a legacy answer that is such a node's own
text, makes the file not_saved.

* fix(ingestion): any switched-off node upstream of a positive stores nothing (#90)

The ladder walks every input upstream of each sampler or guider positive
(not negative, model, clip, latent or image inputs) for PromptManager nodes
whose Save to library is off or wired from an unreadable node, so the
sampler-less step, an off node with a prepend part and a PromptManagerPair
behind a pass-through no longer store its text. The legacy-floor guard reads
a node's resolved text. Every guard reports not_saved for a switch that is
off and not_saved_wired for one it cannot read.

* fix(ingestion): the switch walk skips negative inputs by #90's own rule

The upstream walk treated only names containing "negative" as negative, so
an off node on a neg, neg_text or text_neg input blocked an enabled
positive. prompt_graph gains is_negative_input (the _NEGATIVE_KEY rule, also
used by follows_input) and the walk uses it. The guards accept a node with
null inputs and a side whose provenance is not an object.

* fix(ingestion): the switch walk also skips any input named with "negative"

#90's rule matches only whole underscore-separated words, so negative2,
negativeprompt and NegativePrompt counted as positive inputs and an off
node wired only to one of them blocked the file. The walk skips those too;
follows_input is unchanged.

* fix(monitor): a foreign not_saved decision logs its skip and never waits (#247, #90)

The foreign path stored nothing for a ladder not_saved decision, but logged
it as "No certain prompt" and, when only the legacy answer was a
switched-off node's text, kept the file waiting for a seal that could only
store nothing. Such a decision now ends the wait at settle, and both settle
and the re-check log the opted-out path's own line (a wired switch says so).

Tests cover an only-PromptManager node switched off (opted out, not
foreign), a switched-off PromptManagerText behind a pass-through into a
core CLIPTextEncode, a wired switch, a negative-only switched-off node,
recorded history holding the off text, and foreign saving off.

* fix(monitor): an undecided not_saved waits for its run's record (#247, #90)

A not_saved from the ladder's undecided step is not final before a record
exists: the recorded saver may still resolve another branch. The settle
lookup now keeps such a file waiting; with the record it stores nothing and
logs the opted-out line. An early not_saved (a switched-off node upstream of
any sampler's positive) never reaches the lookup and stays final.

Tests: the undecided case (literal and wired switch) waits, then skips; a
switched-off node feeding one branch of a shared-prefix run never waits and
stores nothing, not even the branch the recorded saver names.

* docs(system): renumber the foreign-runs switch deviation to D158 (#247)

#430 took D147 on main; the Save prompts from other workflows row is D158.

* test(monitor): a switched-off node in the recorded saver's branch is never foreign (#247, #90)

PR 3's repair skips a file whose recorded saver's branch reads a
switched-off PromptManager node. On the monitor the same shape never reaches
the foreign path: a literal switch is the opted-out path's and a wired one
the node's own run's. Nothing is stored at settle or after the run, even
from a recorded run holding the off text.

Vito 2f67b98287 fix(tagging): save WD14 confidences only on the 0.05 grid every page shows (#369) (#373)
* fix(tagging): save WD14 confidences only on the 0.05 grid every page shows (#369)

A saved threshold off the 0.05 step (for example 0.37) blocked Generate and
Start in the workspace Tag image dialogs (native step mismatch) and made the
legacy sliders send 0.35. The server now refuses such a save with a message
that names the setting, a stored one falls back on load, and an accepted one
is stored exactly on the grid. System > Auto-tagging refuses the same values
before Preview tagging review or the batch Review, and hands thresholds on
snapped to the grid. Per-request thresholds keep their own checks.

* test(browser): restore the safety backup policy on system reset

The Recovery policy test in workspace-system-backups saves safety_backup
false at runtime, and /__test__/system/reset restored config.json but not
PromptManagerConfig.SAFETY_BACKUP. A later spec on the same server (Tag
output images review) then saw "No safety backup (the policy is off)". The
new #369 test shifted the CI shards so the two met on one worker.

Vito 2964a3b632 feat(thumbnails): WebP/JPEG XL thumbnails, server-side thumbnail settings and Convert outdated (#319)
* feat(thumbnails): thumbnail format, quality and size as server settings

Thumbnail format (webp default, jxl, jpeg), quality (1-100, default 80)
and size limit (128-2048 px, default 512) are server settings in the
config.json thumbnails section, saved with the settings revision. The
never-read gallery thumbnail_size is gone: older saves wrote its unused
default 256 into config.json.

One module names previews (<stem>_thumb.webp/.jxl/.jpg) and finds the
preview a source owns, preferring the configured format; legacy names
are still found. The encoder module writes every preview atomically and
verifies it decodes. JPEG XL needs no new dependency: Pillow (natively
or with pillow_jxl), ffmpeg with libjxl, or cjxl; without one the
settings refuse jxl (400 jxl-unavailable) and GET says why. Encoder
processes are tracked, bounded and killed at shutdown.

* feat(thumbnails): every preview writer and lookup follows the thumbnail settings

Automatic previews (capture and first view), the thumbnail job, the
legacy gallery routes and the history route write <stem>_thumb.webp
(or .jxl/.jpg) with the configured quality and size limit, for images
and videos alike: video frames, ffmpeg's included (a PNG on stdout,
never upscaled), and the placeholder are encoded like images.

Listings, duplicates, enrichment, the autotag scan and the history
route show any preview the file owns, the current format first, so
older _thumb.png previews keep working until converted. A request for
an older name answers the current preview. Previews are served with
an explicit image/webp or image/jxl type and the same cache headers.

The plan and status count missing, outdated (another format) and
ready previews; the missing job never writes beside an outdated one.
Removing a file removes its previews in every format; the clear
removes .webp and .jxl too. Encoder processes are killed at shutdown.

A preview is only a placeholder: inspection refuses paths under
thumbnails/ and always reads the original, and the inspector cover
accepts the listing's preview in any format the file owns.

* feat(thumbnails): Convert outdated thumbnails as an Activity job

POST /jobs/thumbnails {mode: "convert"} starts "Convert outdated
thumbnails" under the thumbnail job's kind, guarded admission, worker
threads and cancel at a file boundary. For each file whose preview is
in another format, it writes the new preview from the source (atomic,
verified; a video with no decodable frame fails instead of getting the
placeholder), then removes that file's old-format previews in its
thumbnails folder. A failure keeps the old preview; orphan previews
and links are never touched. The final line reports converted, failed
and bytes before and after. The plan counts it with mode=convert; the
legacy gallery stream refuses to attach to a running conversion.

* feat(thumbnails): thumbnail settings in Appearance and Convert outdated in the workspace

System > Appearance gains a Thumbnails surface: format (WebP, JPEG XL,
JPEG), quality and size limit, saved to the server with the settings
revision. JPEG XL is offered only when the server has an encoder, else
the option is disabled with the server's reason (D130); a note says
when this browser cannot show JPEG XL. Saving a new format converts
nothing: the row then says previews keep their old format.

Thumbnail maintenance gains the Convert outdated scope and names the
server's settings instead of its own quality and size fields (D131).
Overview's thumbnail row reads N missing, M outdated, K failed and
offers Convert outdated while previews are outdated.

The workspace decodes a tiny JPEG XL once: where it cannot, cards, the
Library and the inspector cover load the original for a .jxl preview,
and any preview that fails to load falls back to the original. The
viewer and downloads keep using the original (regression test).
README explains enabling JPEG XL; TESTING.md records D130 and D131.

* test(thumbnails): coverage floors for the thumbnail modules and WebP in page workflows

The two new frontend modules enter the coverage baseline (98% lines);
other floors only rise. The visual fixture's preview is WebP and
Appearance has its Thumbnails surface in the System shell check.

* fix(thumbnails): say when the thumbnail settings could not be read

Like Appearance's other server rows, the Thumbnails rows show 'Server
settings could not be read.' while the read failed, instead of only
staying disabled. Firefox exposed the gap: its JPEG XL note arrived
first and changed the row notes the page workflow counted.

* test(thumbnails): accept the legacy preview's spelling a case-insensitive disk finds

On Windows and macOS the '.jpg' lookup finds an older release's
b_thumb.JPG first, so the listed URL spells '.jpg'; it names the same
file there. The test now accepts either spelling and checks the URL
serves that preview.

* fix(thumbnails): address the final review of the thumbnail format work

- ffmpeg writes JPEG XL with -update 1, so a % in a file name is never an
image-sequence pattern, and reads videos as file:<path>. The clear and a
startup sweep remove temp files that interrupted writes left behind.
- Convert outdated converts each group of same-stem files once, from the
first source in the R2 order. An old preview that is already gone counts
as removed, and each file's bytes count once. A current preview is only
  kept if it decodes.
- An encoder that fails makes the write detect encoders again once. Another
encoder is used if one is found; with none, the file is written as WebP
and the availability Appearance shows is refreshed.
- Changing the thumbnail format, quality or size while Convert outdated runs
returns 409 busy. If the format still changes underneath, the job stops
  without removing anything.
- Legacy preview spellings are matched case-insensitively, so X_thumb.JPG
  counts as outdated.
- History's cover uses the same lookup as Images. It serves .jxl only when
Accept lists image/jxl, and otherwise the original or the placeholder.
- A video whose thumbnail the browser cannot show keeps its own element
  (Images) or its label (Library).

* fix(thumbnails): keep the new preview, probe encoders only when gone, sweep reused PIDs

- Convert never removes a path that is the preview it just wrote. It
compares the device and inode, or the resolved and normcased paths when
the disk has no inode numbers. This covers x_thumb.JPG on a
  case-insensitive disk.
- A JPEG XL encode failure re-runs encoder detection only when the
encoder's binary or module is gone. A "no encoder" result is checked
again on the settings read, on a jxl save, and after 60 s, so one slow
probe no longer turns JPEG XL off until a restart.
- The startup sweep now also removes temp files that carry this process's
PID but predate its start. Containers reuse PIDs.

* fix(history): let the cover ask for JPEG XL when this browser decodes it

Firefox can decode JPEG XL without listing image/jxl in Accept. When the
workspace's probe decodes JPEG XL, it adds jxl=1 to the History cover URL.
The server serves a .jxl preview when that flag is set or when Accept
lists image/jxl. In every other case it falls back as before. The flag
accepts only 0 or 1, and the response stays no-store.

* fix(thumbnails): keep going past the per-batch cap until every preview is made

The missing, rebuild and Convert outdated jobs stopped after
MAX_THUMBNAIL_FILES (10,000) files and said "N more on the next run", but
nothing ever started that next run. The cap now bounds one batch. After
each batch the job plans again, leaving out every file it already worked
on, and continues until nothing is left, the job is cancelled, or a batch
makes no progress. That last case stops on files that fail every time
instead of looping over them.

Activity progress counts against the overall total, and the final line and
the legacy stream's complete frame report every batch. Admission, worker
threads, cancellation and the #316 rules are unchanged. The Thumbnail
maintenance dialog now counts all the work instead of saying "more on the
next run".

Vito f68e92b3b6 feat(system): maintenance backend (#313)
* feat(maintenance): reviewed, read-only maintenance plans

POST /prompt_manager/maintenance/preview reviews duplicate_prompts,
optimize, unused_components or missing_links on its own mode=ro snapshot
and answers a Plan (scope, protected reasons, backup policy, media, at most
50 detail rows). The fingerprint, targets and judged sources stay in a
server-side PlanStore under a single-use token (15 min, 8 plans, 16 MiB,
never truncated; a restart forgets them), bound to the database it read.

The previews reuse the legacy queries: duplicate groups and the merge are
shared with cleanup_duplicates, ORPHANED_PROMPTS_SQL is built from the
#239 protection predicates the plan reports, and missing links are judged
by the health check's link_states. Legacy /maintenance keeps its shape;
vacuum now reports success:false when VACUUM fails, and
cleanup_orphaned_images skips links under unavailable sources.

* feat(maintenance): apply reviewed plans as Activity jobs

POST /prompt_manager/maintenance/apply {token} starts a maintenance job
(records admission, not cancellable, groups changed/protected/errors).
The token is consumed on the loop turn the job starts: a second apply is
409 plan-used naming the job, a busy refusal keeps the token, an unknown
or expired one is 410 plan-expired, and a restore since the review is
409 storage-changed.

With the safety backup policy on (maintenance.safety_backup, default true,
saved through the settings route with the revision), the job first writes
a backup into a temp file beside the database, makes it a standalone
rollback-journal file, verifies it, fsyncs it and renames it onto a unique
<db>.backup_<YYYYmmdd_HHMMSS_ffffff>[_n] name; any failure leaves no file
and nothing changed. The apply then rechecks the reviewed fingerprint
inside BEGIN IMMEDIATE (plan-changed writes nothing), deletes in batches of
400 ids, counts changed and protected records, logs the backup by name
only and prunes old safety backups. With the policy off the log and the
status line say "No safety backup".

* feat(maintenance): find and remove duplicate files through Activity

Duplicate image files move onto the job registry:

- POST /prompt_manager/jobs/duplicates finds content-identical media
files over every effective source as a cancellable read job
("Find duplicate image files", group groups_found); the server holds
  the groups per job and GET /prompt_manager/maintenance/duplicates/{id}
pages them ten at a time.
- The duplicate_files preview binds a removal to the reviewed keepers.
Every keeper and removal is checked again: containment as text before
any filesystem access, then not a link, still inside its source, same
size and hash. The plan lists the database links that move.
- Apply runs duplicate_cleanup (records, not cancellable): the promised
safety backup, then per file a recheck, the unlink with every handle
closed and its thumbnail. A changed file is kept, the first failed
unlink stops the job with a coded message (never the OS text), and only
removed files have their image links and favorites moved to the kept
  copy.
- The legacy scan, stream, status and delete routes keep their shapes on
the same registry kinds; the hashing, grouping and thumbnail removal
  are shared with them.

Coordinator rulings on Tasks 15-16:

- Safety backups share the restore pool of 10 `<db>.backup_*` files; the
pool is now also pruned when an apply fails after its backup.
- Plans report the safety backup's size and the free disk space, and
apply refuses up front (507 insufficient-space) when the backup or
VACUUM does not fit, so no job fails halfway for space.

* fix(maintenance): never remove the kept copy; move records before unlink

Final review of #313:

- C1: the duplicate find tells files apart by (st_dev, st_ino), so a
source listed twice, a symlinked source inside another and a hardlink
are one file. The preview and the job refuse a removal that
os.path.samestat matches with its kept copy.
- I1: each file's records move to its verified kept copy in one short
transaction before that file is unlinked; a failed move deletes
nothing and a failed unlink leaves the records on the identical kept
copy. The status line counts files removed and not removed.
- I2: links are looked up under every spelling of the source (the real
path, the configured and monitored folders, ComfyUI's output).
- I5: image tags join the kept copy as their union and the removed
copy's pending, undecided Needs review items are settled; the plan
  says so.
- I3: the VACUUM disk check measures SQLite's real temporary folder.
- M1: the token is looked at again with no await before the job starts.
- M2: the backup decision is made once and handed to the job.
- M3: backups are linked into place; startup sweeps interrupted temps.
- M4: Optimize runs alone (new "exclusive" admission) and its plan says
the database is locked while VACUUM runs.
- M5: the reviewed duplicate merge is strict: collisions and Library
titles are protected, and errors roll back. The legacy cleanup is
  unchanged.
- M7: 2,000 keep entries within a 1 MiB body. M8: event waits in tests.
- M9: the preview binds files by size, mtime and inode without hashing;
the job hashes right before each unlink.

* fix(maintenance): protect one file reached through two mounts

Re-review of #313, round 2:

- R1: a removal on another device than its kept copy, with the same
size and mtimes within 2 s, is protected when its inode is equal or its
path within its source is the same ("May be the same file reached
through another mount or share"), in the preview and again right before
each unlink. The job holds the kept copy open during the unlink, so on
Windows deleting the kept copy itself through another path fails.
- R2: a file's spellings are found by containment: every configured,
monitored, ComfyUI-output or listed folder whose stat identity is a
folder above the file. Parent spellings of nested sources and case
variants match; favorites move under every listed root holding the
  file. Lookups stay index searches.
- m1: a failed unlink's row says the links now name the kept copy.
- m2: a volume with no file ids reads "Can't confirm this is a separate
  file on this drive".

* fix(maintenance): stat duplicate candidates with os.stat

Python 3.10's Path.stat uses the os.stat bound when pathlib was imported,
so the find and the per-file checks could see different stat calls. The
find now calls os.stat directly, like every other check; the mount tests
failed on py3.10 only.

* fix(maintenance): recheck the kept copy right before each unlink

Re-review 2 of #313:

- n1: the cross-mount guard also matches when one path within its source
ends with the other on a whole folder name (sources listed at different
depths, e.g. 2024/x.png and x.png on a FUSE or noserverino mount).
- n2: after a file's records move and right before its unlink, the held
kept copy must still be the file at its path (fstat of the hold against
os.stat) and the cross-mount guard must still hold; otherwise the file
is kept, its records move back to it, and it counts as not removed.

* test(maintenance): the kept-copy race tests hold on Windows

On Windows the removal job holds the kept copy open without
FILE_SHARE_DELETE, so the tests' attempt to delete or replace it during
the record move is refused. The tests now assert that native outcome:
the kept copy stays and the removal goes ahead.

* fix(maintenance): restore a backup of any size the disk has room for

The legacy restore refused the maintainer's own 1.6 GB safety backup with
"File too large. Maximum size is 100MB", a fixed cap since #153. Free
disk space now decides: the upload, its staged copy and the swap must fit,
under a 64 GiB ceiling. A request with a Content-Length that does not fit
is refused before anything is written, one without as soon as its running
size does not, with 507 insufficient-space and a message without paths.
The upload still streams and its temp file is removed on every path.

Vito 69de20a427 feat(system): Sources & scans (#309)
* feat(system): report configured, effective and watched sources

GET /prompt_manager/settings adds settings.monitoring_enabled, a sources
block (configured roots with valid/code/reason, effective roots with their
listing index and watch state, auto_detected) and the monitor state
(present, observer_alive, scheduled). Every path is a public path.

A source is "watching" only while a live observer scheduled it, "manual"
when monitoring is off or the process has no monitor, and otherwise
"restart_pending".

POST accepts monitoring_enabled as a strict bool, saved under
gallery.monitoring.enabled; restart_required_fields names it when the
running observer does not already match. A save that changes the sources
runs as a "Source change" records hold, so it is refused with 409 busy
while a scan runs. Case variants of one folder are saved once.

POST /prompt_manager/settings/validate-source {path} checks a path
lexically (no "..", no control characters, native path forms only) and
then against the gallery-root rules, answering a code and reason, and
writes nothing.

* fix(system): no existence oracle in source validation

A gallery root's containment in the allowed ComfyUI folders is now
decided before its existence and type, so a path outside them answers
"outside-allowed" whether or not it exists. validate-source also folds
the filesystem-root and home-directory codes into "outside-allowed", with
one reason, and logs the detail server-side only. Paths inside the
allowed folders still say "not-found" or "not-directory". The legacy
settings save shares the same check.

* feat(scan): scan one selected source

POST /prompt_manager/jobs/scan accepts roots: indexes into the effective
sources, strict non-negative ints (no bools or floats), deduplicated, at
most 64, non-empty when present. An index past the sources is a 400
"unknown-source" and starts nothing. The job walks only the selected
sources, resolved when it was requested, and keeps each file's listing
root_index. Its scope records files, roots (null for every source) and
output_folders, the number of folders walked, which the log's first line
counts. The legacy /scan route still scans every source, and attaching to
a scoped job keeps its payload keys.

* feat(system): manage sources and start scans natively

System > Sources & scans renders the concept's section on the server's
sources: one row per effective source with its watch state and a scan
scoped to that source, the 3.2.0 update notice with the legacy dismissal,
Add source checked by validate-source, Remove, monitoring and worker
threads as host drafts behind the one Save row, and Refresh files.
A save refused by a running scan names the job. Thumbnail generation
hands off to the legacy gallery until S5.

Deviations D98, D113 and D-NEW-S4-1 are recorded in TESTING.md.

* fix(security): decide source containment as text before any filesystem access

Every caller (validate-source, POST /settings, config.json at load) now
refuses a source through one check, sources.source_problem: the form
check first, then GalleryConfig.gallery_root_problem, which compares the
normalised spelling with the allowed folders before anything resolves,
stats or opens the path. A UNC share, the \\?\ and \\.\ namespaces, a
device or any outside folder is refused with no SMB request, no
executor stall and no existence or timing oracle; only then is the path
resolved and contained again, which still catches a symlink out. The
filesystem root and the home directory answer outside-allowed with the
same reason as any outside path, so no caller learns the home path.

Also:
- POST /settings runs the form checks and parses the roots off the loop;
an unusable source is a coded 400 invalid-source naming its public
path (as text) and its index.
- ComfyUI folders outside the base directory are path anchors, so their
sources round-trip and never collide by folder name.
- A per-source scan sends each index with its public path; a stale or
shifted index is 409 sources-changed and starts nothing.
- A source still watched after monitoring was switched off is
  "stopping".
- Roots are compared as folders, not spellings, so an unchanged legacy
  resend takes no source-change hold.
- Tests: no realpath/stat/lstat of an outside path (native and Windows
forms with ntpath fakes), the alike answers with /, ~ and a link to ~,
an event instead of a timer wait, and a teardown that drains jobs
  before the temporary database goes.

* fix(system): say what Sources saved, refused and still watches

- A per-source scan sends the source's public path; when the sources
changed since they were read the toast says the server's reason and
the list and saved values are read again.
- "watching until restart" for a source the running monitor still
watches after monitoring was saved off, and the status adds "Restart
ComfyUI to apply: Watch for new outputs." from restart_required_fields.
- A save refused for one unusable source marks that row and the status
is the server's message naming it.
- A valid configured source the effective list holds under another
spelling reads "same folder as another source".
- The busy toast names the job the 409 named (ApiError keeps a
validated running job and refused source), falling back to the list.
- The Add source dialog's listeners live on the page scope and Enter
adds; its markup is compared with the concept (D127).
- TESTING.md: D-NEW-S4-1 is D127; D-NEW-S4-2 records the new copy; the
Sources contract describes the lexical containment, invalid-source and
  sources-changed.

* fix(security): guard the Windows form probes on a token of their own

The no-filesystem guard matched "C:", which on a Windows runner is also
the temporary ComfyUI tree the save may resolve for its trusted first
entry. The probe paths now carry a token no trusted directory holds.

Vito 3b1d00501f fix(config): serialized config store and registry admission (#289)
* fix(config): report settings persistence failures (#220)

Settings saves now go through one serialized config store
(py/config_store.py). A commit re-reads config.json under a process
lock, applies the change to a copy and replaces the file atomically
(temp file beside it, fsync, close, os.replace), so a failed write
leaves the old file in place.

POST /prompt_manager/settings commits first and only then publishes
the values at runtime. A write failure is 500 config-write-failed, an
unparseable config.json is 409 config-unreadable (the file is kept
instead of replaced) and a stale expected_revision is 409
settings-changed. A save reports persisted, revision, runtime_applied
and restart_required_fields; GET adds the revision. Only submitted keys
are written; other sections and the CivitAI key are kept.

* fix(lora): report integration save failures (#220)

POST /prompt_manager/lora/enable commits integrations.lora_manager
through the config store and publishes the runtime values only after
config.json holds them. Before, it set the runtime values, rewrote the
whole runtime config (dropping sections it did not know) and reported
success even when the write had failed.

A write failure is 500 config-write-failed and changes nothing at
runtime; an unparseable config.json is 409 config-unreadable. The
body goes through the capped JSON reader and the flags must be
booleans. A trigger word cache that fails to load is reported as
persisted:true, cache_loaded:false. The CivitAI key is never echoed.
The LoRA tests now write to a temporary config path.

* fix(jobs): refuse legacy record-changing operations while a job runs

The job registry gains admission classes. A records job is refused
while any records or guarded job runs, a guarded job while a records
job runs, and read jobs share only the one-job-per-kind rule.
record_changing=True stays as the spelling of records. Job summaries
add cancellable and admission, and a non-cancellable job ignores
cancel.

JobRegistry.hold() registers a running, non-cancellable job for a
legacy-page operation and ends it when the request does. The legacy
restore, maintenance, prompt cleanup, duplicate image delete, LoRA
import and batch auto-tag routes hold as records; thumbnail generation
(both routes) and thumbnail clear hold as guarded. A maintenance run
of only read checks holds as read. So a restore during a scan, or a
scan during a legacy restore, is refused with the running job named
instead of interleaving; this closes the gap noted on #269.

Refusals keep each route's shape: the JSON routes return the legacy
409 "<title> already running", and the thumbnail and LoRA streams
send their existing error event.

* test(lora): keep the preserved-section fixture free of secret values

CodeQL flagged the fixture that writes the secret constant into a test
config file as clear-text storage. The test only needs a marker value
to prove the stored key survives a save.

* fix(config): read under the commit lock and publish saves in write order

- ConfigStore.read takes the commit lock, so no read handle is open while
config.json is replaced (Windows refuses that replace).
- os.replace is retried briefly on a Windows PermissionError (antivirus or
indexer handles) before the save is reported as not written.
- The temp file is written beside realpath(config.json), so a symlinked
config keeps its link and a bind mount fails truthfully.
- commit() takes a publish callback that runs under the lock after the
write; settings and LoRA saves publish there, so two concurrent saves
reach the runtime in write order and the runtime ends on the last one.
- The concurrency tests now wait until the second caller is blocked on the
lock (tests/lock_probe.py) before releasing the first.

* fix(jobs): require an admission class, admit holds on entry, true Activity states

- JobRegistry.start raises TypeError when neither admission nor
record_changing is given, so a new job never runs as "read" beside a
  scan by omission.
- hold() admits when its block is entered, so a hold that is never entered
leaves no running records job behind; callers that answer a refusal in
their own way check blocker() first, with no await before the block.
- A held SSE operation that ends in an error event (thumbnail generation,
legacy batch auto-tag) is listed as failed, and refused input (duplicate
delete without paths, an unreadable thumbnail body) is answered before
the hold, so it is not listed as a job.
- Activity keeps a job's cancellable flag (true when an older server omits
it) and shows Cancel only for a running, cancellable job, in Recent work
and in the job view. A held legacy job no longer offers a Cancel that
  does nothing.

* fix(admin): legacy pages show why a request was refused

A job running in the workspace refuses the legacy record-changing requests,
and a corrupt config.json refuses a settings save. The legacy pages now
name the reason instead of hiding it:

- LoRA import: the busy and failure frames carry status and progress, and
the admin modal handles type "error": it shows the message, notifies and
closes, instead of staying on "Initializing..." at 0%.
- Legacy batch auto-tag: a refusal by another job is a 200 stream with one
  error frame ({type, status, message}), which both pages already render;
a second batch keeps its exact JSON 409.
- Gallery cache clear: a refused server clear shows the reason and stops
before the success toast and the "Not generated" reset.
- Admin settings save and maintenance show the reply's error ("config.json
cannot be read...", "Scan for metadata already running") instead of
"Failed to save settings" or "HTTP 409: Conflict".
- Tests cover the read-only /maintenance branch: a read-only selection runs
during a scan as a read hold; a mixed or default selection is refused.

* refactor(api): move the settings routes out of admin.py

GET and POST /prompt_manager/settings, their validation, the config commit
and runtime publication, and the shared commit-failure reply now live in
py/api/settings_routes.py as SettingsRoutesMixin, before S3 adds host
fields there. No behaviour change: the same routes, payloads and status
codes; admin.py drops about 300 lines.

* chore(coverage): raise the floors of the frontend files this round touched

admin.js, gallery.js, activity.mjs and activity-job-view.mjs, to their
measured coverage. No floor is lowered.

* fix(admin): the gallery starts no thumbnail status read while it leaves

The gallery's startup thumbnail check runs one second after load. When that
second ended while the page was leaving (CI, WebKit: the workflow test
navigates from the gallery to the admin page), WebKit failed the new read
with "Fetch API cannot load ... due to access control checks." and
Playwright reported a page error.

Like the admin page (#290), the gallery now has a page lifetime that ends
on beforeunload and pagehide (and starts again on a back/forward restore).
The check starts no read once it has ended and passes it as the read's
signal. A page-clock workflow test that leaves before the second ends
failed on both events, in Chromium and WebKit, before this change.
