ComfyWidgets['STRING'] return shape varies across ComfyUI versions and was leaving the display widget at a falsy default ('false') that never updated. Switch to a native addWidget('text', ..., {serialize: false}) call with disabled=true, created idempotently in onNodeCreated and onConfigure and refreshed from onExecuted.
