Reed-Solomon Encode

Encodes data with Reed-Solomon error correction codes.

Source library: reedsolo

Overview

Reed-Solomon codes are non-binary cyclic error-correcting codes. They are a powerful tool for correcting burst errors in data streams. This node takes input data and adds a specified number of error correction symbols (ECC symbols) to it. The resulting data is more resilient to corruption.

Parameters

  • data: The BYTESLIKE data to be encoded.
  • ecc_symbols: The number of error correction symbols to add. A higher number provides more error correction capability but also increases the size of the output data.

Outputs

  • encoded_data: The original data with the ECC symbols appended, as a BYTESLIKE object.
