This statement is syntactically correct, but its behavior might not match the expected outcome due to the way Python's conditional (ternary) operator precedence works.

In Python, the conditional expression has lower precedence than the comma.

This looks like a typo where Union is being imported from `git` instead of `typing` like elsewhere in the repo.

I do not have GitPython installed in my container, so this was erroring:

ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'git'```
